Wholesale Jewellery UK by Miss Milly.

Miss Milly is the new name for gorgeous and reasonably priced, quality wholesale costume jewellery with attractive retail price points and great margin potential. And all of this backed up by excellent customer service, great variety of products and a lower minimum order at just £50. All the wholesale costume jewellery can still be purchased in singles, which strongly appeals to retailers. And the carriage cost has been reduced to £6.95.

Miss Milly has envisaged a season full of crystal twinkles and is really excited about the new heart lines in the Carmen Collection as well as the next phase of the Floria Collection, which went down a storm in the Spring.

Porgressive Gifts editorial

Our Spring marketing campaign for wholesale jewellery and fashion accessories is in full swing with adverts and editorial appearing in the key publications. This piece on trends for jewellery and scarves in the Feb issue of Progressive Gifts features the following editorial:

Following a fantastic launch in the Autumn, new jewellery company Miss Milly is also looking forward to introducing the company's new colourful Spring/Summer lines. "We have played with the themes of asymmetry and mixing materials," comments md Sarah Watmore "Our new Harmony Collection summarises how we see the main trends for the coming season, using a harmonious balance of natural stones and manmade stainless steel. Some of the detail is asymmetric, which engages and holds the eye, as opposed to symmetry, which is too quickly read and discarded by the brain. Colours are bold, block tones to welcome back the sun." The company is also launching the exclusive distribution of Annanova accessories. "We have a stunning new range of purses and notebooks, with everything available online in early January," confirms Sarah.

The importance of branding

The Centre for Retail Research recently claimed that 5,000 more shops could be killed off by March due to the online boom, which accounts for approximately 20% of spending.

But before retailers slump under more news of doom and gloom ahead, take a step back. We are a nation of shoppers, and we love to touch and feel. Whilst the internet is great for electronics, music and toys, we are perhaps lucky to find ourselves in the gift, jewellery and accessories market where consumers like to feel the quality and it's not so easy to compare a particular necklace in various different online retailers.

And this is why it is so important to keep that personal and individual relationship with your customers and the local population. An independent retailer's brand is very powerful, and it is constantly communicated through your physical presence from your window display to how your staff greet customers and the packaging you provide. And this is why it's so important to get the branding right and to use it consistently throughout your business to engage with your customers from your social media and website to your product selection.

In my previous business incarnation, we had a company name that had nothing to do with what we offered, and we were often asked where it had come from. Whilst this was a good talking point with the minority, the majority were just a bit baffled by it. When my new company launched last September, I was instantly greeted with a chorus of "that's such an improvement, it really works with what you are doing" and my customers engaged immediately with the new brand.

Miss Milly as a wholesale jewellery supplier needs to stand out from its competitors, and we have worked hard to use our branding as a differentiator. From the logo to the website, brochures and adverts, we have created a consistent image and and  feel to the brand that portrays the essence of what we are, and this has paid dividends in the number of new customers registering with us.

We are really looking forward to this coming Sunday when we take the brand a step further with the launch of our new  product ranges and our brand new exhibition stand at the Spring Fair, NEC. We have ensured that the brand and the products are the highlights of the stand with no conflict from the display equipment. The gorgeous Spring wholesale costume jewellery collections and the all new Annanova wholesale purses range should stand out a treat.

If you are attending, we'd love to see you on Stand C18 in Hall 19.

Christmas online

Incredible to believe but according to Experian there were 107 million visits to websites on Christmas Day, which is up 86% from the previous year. This is down to the big high street names starting their online sales earlier than ever before.

And Ofcom says that internet shopping is more popular in the UK than in any other major country, with Google claiming in the summer that mobile devices had led to increased spontaneous shopping.

As a wholesale jewellery supplier, we are more than happy to hang up our keyboards before Christmas and enjoy the break but it seems that for the retail industry there truly is no respite.

A Harmonious Balance

The Harmony Collection from Miss Milly is a beautiful, contemporary combination of natural stones and pearls combined with man-made stainless steel and glass. The stones are individually selected and each piece of jewellery is hand-crafted to the highest quality. This is the perfect range to inject design and colour into your display.

The Harmony 1 necklace and bracelet (pictured above) introduce bright, bold colour through dyed jade, offset with accents of shiny stainless steel. The benefits of using stainless steel over silver are the lower cost and that it doesn’t tarnish or require polishing. The brain quickly reads and passes over symmetry so with these pieces, and others in the range, Miss Milly focuses on asymmetrical design, which catches and holds the eye.

Other jewellery in the Harmony Collection is carefully crafted with agate, cubic zirconia, Brazilian crystal, pearlescent rose quartz and freshwater potato pearls. And where possible, each piece of jewellery includes a beautiful Miss Milly engraved stainless steel brand tag.

If you are looking for a high quality range of jewellery at reasonable prices and to inject some colour into your display, this is a great collection to try out. With trade prices from £3.50, the Harmony Collection is available online at www.missmilly.co.uk with a minimum order of just £50 or call Miss Milly on 01905 612955. All items can be ordered in singles or the quantity that best suits your requirements.

Miss Milly focuses on affordable, quality jewellery and accessories, and the full range can be seen online at www.missmilly.co.uk. Retailers need to register online to view trade prices and, once verified, they can add products to a wish list to share with colleagues or order at a later date, as well as having access to previous orders.

New year review

A new year is the perfect time to reflect and since our launch of Miss Milly, a UK wholesale jewellery supplier, just four months ago we haven't had the chance to stop and review our progress until now.

For me, personally, breaking away from a company I'd founded and starting again in the middle of a recession may have seemed madness to some but despite the huge emotional and financial obstacles put in my way, I would not change it for anything.

The opportunity to start a wholesale jewellery UK company again from scratch has been fantastic, allowing me to immediately implement the positive lessons I've learned from all my experiences in the last 20 years as well as minimising the start-up risks. And now as we begin 2013, I have taken the time to evaluate how the launch of Miss Milly has worked and what the key focus for growth will be for the coming year alongside highlighting where we need to improve. So we're evaluating, for example, which marketing is most effective at bringing in new wholesale jewellery customers and which areas of the UK have the least retail customer coverage.

And we have the launch of our gorgeous new jewellery range, the Harmony Collection, to look forward to on 11 January, as well as our first collection of Annanova designer purses. There is definitely something about a new year to focus the mind!
